Different from traditional cycle track with segregated footpath, the 13-kilometre GreenWay in the Kai Tak Development adopts a shared-use concept for pedestrians and cyclists to enhance the connectivity of open spaces in the area for leisure and recreation purposes. The GreenWay will connect various open spaces, including the Sung Wong Toi Park, Kai Tak River, Kai Tak Sports Park, Metro Park, the promenades along both sides of the former runway area, Kwun Tong Promenade, etc.
Kai Tak Promenade is a park under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The GreenWay at Kai Tak Promenade is currently authorized by the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services in accordance with “Pleasure Grounds Regulation”, to set aside a section of public open space for riding bicycles, tricycles or scooters. No person shall ride any vehicle other than the area of GreenWay, except wheel-chairs or perambulators.
Child under the age of 11 riding a bicycle or tricycle on the GreenWay shall be accompanied by an adult.
Cyclists can park bicycles or tricycles at designated parking places, with a continuous parking period not exceeding 12 hours.

GreenWay users are advised to follow the prevailing rules and regulations of the respective open space. Pets are not allowed if the open space is a non-inclusive park for pets.
During early days of the opening of the GreenWay, there are not many sections where bicycles can be ridden, and the government has no plans to arrange for bicycle rental services. As the remaining sections of the GreenWay will be gradually opened and the public will become more aware of the GreenWay, the Government will consider arranging for contractors to provide bicycle rental services in response to demand.
Considering that the GreenWay are passages shared by both pedestrians and cyclists and are mainly used for leisure and recreational purposes. To ensure the safety of users and allow the public to use the GreenWay more freely and comfortably, electric and motorized bicycles are therefore prohibited from the GreenWay.
Using "electric mobility devices" (e.g. electric scooters, electric unicycles, electric balance bikes, electric skateboards, electric bicycles, etc.) on carriageways, footpaths and cycle tracks including GreenWay is a violation of the Road Traffic Ordinance (374 of the Laws of Hong Kong) and its subsidiary legislation, and other relevant legislation.
Scooters can be used on the GreenWay. However, in order to allow the public to use the GreenWay more freely and comfortably, other wheeled devices are prohibited from the GreenWay.
